PUBLIC HEALTH (CORONA VIRUS AND COVID-19) (PREVEN PION,
CONTAINMENT AND MANAGEMENT) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) R ULES, 2022
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 31 as read with section 29 ta Public
Health Act, J, KHUMBIZE KANDODO CHIPONDA, Minister of Health, make th following
Rules—
1, These Rules may be cited as the Public Health (Corona Virus and q Pitation and
COVID-19) (Prevention, Containment and Management) (Amendment) g lommence-
(No. 2) Rules, 2022 and shall come into operation on Ist June, 2022. q nent

2. The Public Health (Corona Virus and COVID-19) (Prevention, Amendment
Containment and Management) Rules, 2020 (hereinafter referred to as the Fr 14 to

“principal Rules”) are amended, in rule 14— N.48/2020

(a) by revoking subrule (3) and replacing therefor the following new
subrule (3)}—
“(3) all incoming travellers above the age of 12 years,
including Malawians, shall comply with all preventive measures
under rule 3 (1) and—
(a) shall be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
through a verifiable COVID-19 vaccination certificate; and
(6) where a traveller does not have a verifiable proof of COVID-19
vaccination, they shall produce a valid negative PCR test certificate
obtained from an accredited or designated laboratory in the country of
origin of his trip, obtained within 72 hours of their arrival into Malawi.”:
and
(b) by revoking subrule (5).
3. The Fifth Schedule to the principal Rules is amended— Am endment
of I ifth
(a) by revoking paragraph 2 (1) (c); Sch edule to
(6) by revoking paragraph 2 (2) (viii); prin cipal

(c) by revoking paragraph 2 (3) (x);
(d) by revoking paragraph 2 (4) (vii); and
(2) under Alert Level 1, “Jnternational travel and transportation
from Malawi’, by revoking subparagraph (b) and replacing therefor a
new subparagraph (6) as follows—
“(b) all travellers into Malawi above the age of 12 years,
including Malawians, shall—
(i) be required to show proof of full COVID-19
vaccination through a verifiable COVID-19 vaccination
certificate; or
