The purpose of this website is to provide free public access to legal literature from Malawi in the form of judgments, legislation and reports of legal institutions. We aim to provide timely and accurate information. In the event that errors and omissions exist and such are brought to our attention, we will endeavour to rectify them speedily.
- The information we will provide will not necessarily be comprehensive, complete or up to date. Malawilii has links to external sites over which we have no control consequently; we assume no responsibilities for any information accessed from external links. The information provided on Malawilii website is not of a professional nature nor is it legal advice, thus if you require specific professional legal advice, please always consult a suitably qualified legal professional.
- Malawilii shall not be held responsible for any reliance that may be placed upon the information provided on its website. We make efforts to give our users services of high quality; however neither Malawilii, nor those who provide data on Malawilii give any guarantees, undertakings or warranties in respect of the accuracy, completeness or up date nature of the information provided. - Malawilii reserves the intellectual property rights obtaining in the Malawilii website graphic, navigation and search tool design.
- Subject to the preceding paragraph and any other stated conditions regarding improper use, all legal literature available on Malawilii web site in the form of legislation, judicial decisions in addition to any editorial alterations inserted by Malawilii, such as headers and footers or head notes can be copied, printed and distributed by users for free and without any authorization from Malawilii, provided that the user identifies Malawilii as the source of the document.
- Some legal material Malawilii publishes may be subject to conditions set by the courts and relevant government bodies with intellectual property rights in them. Should such be the case we shall provide information to our users on the same. Users are nevertheless, under an obligation to verify whether their use of such material is authorized.

- Malawilii considers the privacy of its users to be of paramount significance. In order to protect your privacy, we have provided this explanatory notice on our online information use.
- Please take note that our privacy policy only applies to the Malawilii website. Your usage of this website signifies that you accept this privacy policy and any modifications that may be made to it from time to time.
- Our privacy policy shall only be of application to that information collected by Malawilii from the users of our website www.malawilii.mw or any other domain names that may be adopted in future. It does not apply to information collected by Malawilii in any other way including off line.
- Our website does not automatically collect personally identifiable information of its users. Our website shall however recognise the home server used but not email addresses of users. The technical information collected is not passed on to third parties but is used for the purposes of research and improvement of our services. The technical information is only communicated to our technical support staff. We also collect such information to have an idea as to which services are most popular with our users.
- Malawilii however, reserves the right to collect and retain any information that we deem raises security concerns to our website and where necessary, we shall disclose such information to relevant authorities.
- Malawilii publishes collections of court judgments with the authorization of the Malawi judiciary. By disseminating judgments in an electronic version Malawilii is aiming at achieving the principle of impartiality and transparency of the judiciary as the public will have an easy access to such legal material.
- Due to the fact that we publish open court judgments, it is envisaged that some of our databases shall contain personal information appearing in the judgments. We publish such databases with the agreement of the Malawi judiciary. Malawilii shall monitor and where necessary edit such personal information if that shall not distort the substance of the context of the judgments or any other documents.
